INTENDED USE
DiaMRSA reagent kits are applied in public health laboratories for the qualitative detection of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) chromosomal DNAs in biological specimens. Testing for MRSA plays an important role in hospitalization acquired (nosocomial, HA-MRSA) and community acquired (CA-MRSA) infections. Compared to the public average, patients with open wounds, invasive medical devices, and / or weakened immune systems are at greater risk of infection. The application of DiaMRSA kit serves for the detection of bacterial DNA in pre-enriched or selectively isolated samples by real-time PCR amplification method.
TEST PRINCIPLE
The principle of the test is a real-time PCR process directed by specific primer-probe pairs. Theseoligonucleotides are specific to unique sequences encoding for resistancefactor PBP2a (mecA) and conserved 16s rRNA regions of methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus. The primer system attached to the 5?regions of ORF (Open Reading Frame) and of promoter sequences givesrise to the amplification of single copy gene sequences together with the upstream regulatory elements. This amplification system results in thedetection of species-specific and virulence determining regions of bacterialgerms in one PCR reaction.
KIT SPECIFICATION
This reagent system is specific for the demonstration of pathogenic PBP2a (mecA) factor encoding, methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
